I stumbled into a great deal on a complete Griggs suspension package that had never been installed. Once I got the kit home, I realized it was missing a few small parts and a set of instructions. One phone call to Griggs was all it took to get my parts ordered and all of my questions answered. You just never know how a company is going to treat you when they figure out you didn't buy the parts from them and I was very happy to see that it made no difference in how I was treated.
With the suspension installed, it wasn't near as difficult as I expected, I spent 2003 completing the necessary drivers schools to compete in NASA's American Iron series. I was completely blown away at the difference in how my car handled. It actually did what I asked of it instead of blindly plowing through the corners like it used to.
We have high hopes for our first full season in 2004. Pauls Automotive Engineering has put together an awesome motor for us and when combined with the great products and tech support from Griggs Racing we think we have a package that will be hard to beat.
Update:
Our first event of the season took us to the Nashville Super speedway where we took third place on Saturday and followed that with a second in the rain on Sunday!
Next was Mid-Ohio. We had a problem in qualifying and had to start from the back of the pack on Saturday. After two full course cautions and a lot of work we found ourselves in front of the entire AI and AIX field and third overall behind a well prepared Viper and Porsche.
Sunday went much smoother. We qualified first and were able to pull a comfortable lead in the race making for a much less stressful day.
