"I purchased this car brand new and after about five months, began to make modifications to it. My previous Mustang had been a 1991 Mustang LX Coupe with the complete GR40 suspension kit in it. I had used this car for law enforcement work and had been very pleased with the performance of that vehicle. A picture of that vehicle appears on the Griggs website. I was fully convinced to do the same modifications to my new car. I then purchased and installed the following parts myself from John Griggs: the Full chassis kit, including interior frame rails; the Severe Duty Torque Arm and Severe Duty Panhard Rod which necessitated the removal of the vehicle's tailpipes; T/A Stud Girdle; rear Koni coil-over spring kit and shocks; adjustable lower rear control arms; aluminum driveshaft; tubular front K-member; tubular lower front control arms; Koni coil-over front struts with Griggs Caster/Camber plates; heavy duty steering shaft; and bump steer kit. Other mods include Ford Motorsport Cobra R rims with Bridgestone Potenza RE71 275/40R17 tires all the way around, and a Hurst chrome shifter with a white shift ball. The battery was further relocated into the vehicle trunk. The vehicle has been further aligned to the specs supplied by John, and I religiously maintain the tire pressures at 36 psi, and have accumluated over 22,000 miles on these tires and they still look brand new with very little wear. A Ford Racing Parts FR500 Steering wheel was also installed, along with getting license plates with the same numbers as Steve McQueen's Mustang from the movie "Bullitt". A Griggs GR40 decal also found it's way onto the rear license plate bracket for that "subtle" touch, along with the Ford Cobra grille emblem replacing the factory running horse emblem. The stock hood was also replaced with a Ford Motorsport "Cobra R" hood. Lastly, I tinted the windows, although I had the guys at the tint shop do that one. The car's handling and ride have been dramtically improved, and feels like driving a big go-kart, with excellent turn in and unlimited sticking power. I have yet to have the rear break loose on me. This car is driven at work every single day, and has proven to be totally reliable and streetable.

I have the Griggs GR40 Recaro seats currently on order, which I will install with a set of Simpson belts. Future plans include the T56 6 speed transmission and the Griggs Black Gold 8.8 rear housing with Baer rear brakes. After that I think I'll take a break and see what John and Bruce will come up with next. John, Bruce and Eric have all been very helpful in answering any and all questions I have had, and in the rare occasion when there have been problems, they have quickly and efficiently corrected the situation. If anyone would like to ask any questions, please feel free to contact John or Eric for my contact numbers.
