Quick Facts About the New Style GR40 TorqueArm

  • New Mid-Plate Design is STRONG. Designed for 1300HP launches as well as the abuse of clutchless shifting on high down force road race cars and to extend life when experiencing potential wheel hop under heavy braking while road racing. Mid-plate bolts to rear axle housing between differential cover and gear carrier and locates on two dowel pins to preclude shuffle, which can cause leakage.
  • Easier to service rear end after installation
  • One part number fits all 8.8 rear axle applications in 2005-2014 Mustangs.
  • Accommodates any differential cover or girdle, OE steel or Finned Aluminum, and all other Aftermarket units. It does require drilling all covers and girdles to fit dowel pins, except for this one: Griggs Racing Girdle

Nothing works as well, or is a greater joy to drive fast than a high powered V8 rear drive car with a properly designed TorqueArm system.  Griggs Racing introduced TorqueArm technology to Mustangs in 1979, and our design for the S197 chassis is a new system for these wonderful newer cars.  The forward mounting utilizes a new technology rubber bushing that eliminates noise transfer of previous designs.  Installed with either design of our lower control arms and anti-squat brackets, the new TorqueArm geometry eliminates rear wheel hop while at the same time greatly improving forward bite and launch performance as well as chassis stability while driving at the limit in situations causing ride height changes as in cresting a hill while cornering.

Minor modification to exhaust system H pipe may be required.   Installation requires minor structural welding.
