THE DEFINITION AS EXPLAINED BY BRUCE GRIGGS
Kingpin Inclination (KPI), also called Steering Axis Inclination (SAI), is the angle of the steering pivot axis when viewed from the front, measured in degrees from vertical. KPI provides steering self-centering, reduces steering effort, and produces dynamic camber change as the wheel is steered. KPI is determined by spindle and upper pivot geometry and is generally not adjustable in production cars.
