Wheel Hop

THE DEFINITION AS EXPLAINED BY BRUCE GRIGGS

Wheel Hop is a violent, rapid bouncing of a drive wheel under hard acceleration, caused by the rear axle winding up under torque, then releasing the stored energy in oscillation. Wheel hop destroys driveline components, transmissions, axles, and U-joints. The TorqueArm rear suspension was specifically engineered by Griggs Racing to eliminate wheel hop in solid rear axle Mustangs by controlling axle wind-up through a single rigid longitudinal link.
