Scrub Radius is the distance between the steering pivot axis and the center of the tire contact patch when both are projected to the ground. Positive scrub radius (steering axis inboard of tire centerline) provides feedback through the steering wheel under braking and acceleration. Zero scrub radius eliminates this feedback. Negative scrub radius is used in some production cars for stability under uneven braking. Scrub radius is determined by spindle geometry and wheel offset.
